I thought it was the spell working its magic on Peppermint Butler. Because Brocko wanted to be a love magnet, so maybe the spell worked on other people too?

An anon actually old me that they thought that the Dark Magic Guy had hexed Pep But so as sort of revenge for trapping him in Cinnamon Bun’s body by making him infatuated with a gross beast, and it was actually a pretty cool theory.

The thing for me mostly was Pep. But.’s tone of voice when he said it. I was kind of flat and emotionless, like he was just trying to save face, you know? Not humiliate himself or Brocko. I mean, PB didn’t seem too phased by the spell, or… maybe she did. It was pretty confusing at the end when she called him “my love”. ‘Cause as she said, she loved him just like any of her subjects but then again with Peebles who even knows.

Actually what I got from it was that the creature that Peps caught lied and actually just made Braco attractive to Peps; payback for Peps kidnapping him for whatever purpose, what better than making Peps fall for some atrocious beast? Huh, I hadn’t considered that, but you certainly bring up a valid point, dear Anon!

The main reason I thought Pep was basically just lying to Brocko/Braco (I don’t even know how to spell it ughhh) was his tone. Now I don’t have the clip right with me this exact moment for reference, but when he said “Well you paid the price. I want to have your babies” or whatever he didn’t seem to be using much emotion. I wouldn’t expect an emotional hysterical screech of “I WANT YOUR BABIES!!!!”, but I expected a little something. It sounded flat; sort of an obligatory comment so as not to seem like he donked up royally.

But I mean, I really like your theory! I’ll have to watch it again tomorrow when I don’t have quite so much junk to do and see if I misinterpreted his tone (the clip i was using was glitchy and laggy as balls, so it’s possible)! C:

Now don’t get me wrong, it’s cool to ship same-sex AT couples (I personally find Bubbleline/ Sugarless Gum adorable), but I think y’all should take a step back and like, take a cool shower or something.

Peppermint Butler had just turned this poor, desperate guy into a deformed and horrifying beast for the sake of Brocko’s love for PB, but also so that Peppermint Butler could be free to do his weird black magic biz without the Gumball Guardians accusing him of neglecting his duties. So yeah, do you really think he’d tell Brocko “sorry man, you’re straight up disgusting. She’ll never love you now.”? I don’t think he was being serious at all when he said he “wanted Brocko’s babies”. It was a flat-toned “sure man, whatever you want to hear” type response.

As for the last line of the episode, when Peppermint Butler angrily responds to hearing that PB made Brocko a clone of herself by saying “You should have given him to me!” I almost think he was referring to leaving Brocko to him as a sort of vessel to use for his black magic hooha. He kind of kidnapped Cinnamon Bun, who seems to be a Candy Kingdom regular, so I’m thinking for his weird dark magic jazz he’d be wanting someone who is rather obscure/unknown/not a recurring character. Maybe that’s just me, though.

But hey, if you want to insist that Pep. But. had a thing for Brocko, you do it up, son. I just wanted to get my two cents out there and sort of nudge a little reminder that not everything in AT has a hidden innuendo or deeper meaning. VuV
